Since 2014, the non-profit Trinity House Community has served the Town of Leesburg, VA, with excellent coffee and tea drinks, delicious sandwiches, salads, and soups, house-made baked goods, wine and beer, and a continual series of community and culture-building events. As a ministry run by Catholics, but also collaborating with our Protestant and Eastern Orthodox friends, we work in a spirit of Christian hospitality to provide fellow wayfarers with welcome, nourishment, respite, and a bright signpost for our common journey toward the good we are all seeking.

In order to deliver a great experience for our guests, we rely on our amazing team members. We are looking for a positive, energetic, responsible and customer service-oriented individual for the position of Assistant Manager. Our vision is to create a Christian hospitality model that can be used anywhere to offer the love of Jesus Christ to those in need of nourishment, healing and a sense of home. We envision the right candidate as integral to the process of developing and spreading this model. We are willing to train the right person for the job!

Job Summary:

Our goal with the assistant manager position is to bring on a team member who has Christian hospitality ministry at heart and would like to learn the coffee business from the inside out as a means to that end. The assistant manager may be called on to assist the store manager in running any and all aspects of the store while he/she initially focuses on learning the barista and cook jobs, managing inventory, and undertaking all marketing and event planning for the ministry. He or she will be responsible for assisting the store manager in meeting standards in customer service, sales, product quality, staffing, training, staff management, visual merchandising, operations, inventory, safety, cleanliness, documentation, cost controls, and marketing. He or she will be responsible for performing and/or delegating all jobs and enforcing procedures in the absence of the manager.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; college graduate preferred.

  • Retail experience preferred.

  • Culinary aptitude.

  • Social media marketing experience preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and special events as needed.

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.

  • Must have excellent people skills, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Position requires standing, lifting, bending, fine motor skills, etc.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
